A window pre-shipment inspection is a final opportunity to compare finished goods with the approved order before dispatch. It works best when the inspection scope, access and acceptance criteria are agreed in advance. The inspector needs controlled documents and item identifiers, not just a warehouse full of similar-looking frames.
Prepare the inspection reference set
Provide the approved opening schedule, drawings, glass and finish references, hardware list and agreed acceptance criteria. Include all accepted changes. Check that the factory and inspector use the same revision, especially on orders released in several stages.
Agree which units will be inspected and which checks will be performed. If sampling is used, define the plan before the visit. Do not imply that a limited inspection verifies every concealed component or every performance characteristic.
Check identity, dimensions and operation
Match unit labels to the opening schedule and quantities. Measure the agreed frame dimensions and inspect panel arrangements and handing. Review the active leaf, sliding direction or bifold stack arrangement against the drawing.
Operate the relevant hardware and check locks, handles, rollers or hinges under the agreed procedure. Confirm that separately supplied accessories are present and identified. A correct frame without its essential installation or operating parts is not a complete delivery.
Review glazing, finish and records
Check available glass identification and compare it with the approved build-up. Inspect appearance under the agreed viewing conditions rather than improvising new criteria at the warehouse. Record defects with the item ID and a clear photograph.
Review the agreed production records and any required labels or documents. A visual dispatch inspection does not replace model-specific test evidence. Keep the distinction clear so an inspection report is not presented as certification of untested performance.
Close findings before release
- List missing items and nonconformities.
- Agree the corrective action and responsible party.
- Recheck corrected items and record the result.
- Verify packing protection and package labels.
- Document the final dispatch-release decision.
Coordinate timing with packing and transport. Units must be accessible for the agreed checks without unsafe or improvised handling. If goods are repacked after inspection, clarify how identification and condition will remain controlled.
Use Shanghai Slang windows and doors, including casement windows and sliding doors, as product references when preparing the purchase scope. Attach the actual inspection requirements to the order so dispatch approval is based on agreed evidence rather than a last-minute general impression.
